Code Enforcement

Forest Park Code Enforcement Department

Mission

To administer and implement equal and effective enforcement of the City's codes, ordinances, and standards pertaining to the construction, alteration, renovation, and utilization of buildings and structures within the City. To protect the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens by mitigating and eliminating unsightly, unhealthy, and dangerous environments as defined by zoning, health, and housing code.

Our Goal

Our goal is to encourage both owners and tenants to voluntarily eliminate any violations that may exist so that Forest Park remains a city in which we can be proud to live. When a code violation is reported, we open a complaint and work towards resolving the violation through a process of education, inspection, and notices. Continued violations are followed by progressive enforcement. Code Enforcement Officers collaborate with residents, neighborhood associations, public services agencies, businesses, and other city departments to:

• Facilitate voluntary compliance with city laws and codes.

• Empower community self-help programs.

• Develop public outreach programs.
