Public Notice: Water Main Break At The Jonesboro Plaza (4150 Jonesboro Rd.)

Crew members from the Clayton County Water Authority have completed repairs to the water main break, which occurred yesterday at the Jonesboro Plaza, located at 4150 Jonesboro Rd. Water service has been restored to and around the impacted areas.

Update as of 7/29/23 at 5:30 p.m.

Crew members from the Clayton County Water Authority are still in the process of trying to access the water main leak. Do to the location of the leak being near a utility pole, Georgia Power has been contacted in order to secure the nearby guy-wires.

City officials are planning to block off one northbound lane on Jonesboro Rd. (near the Jonesboro Plaza) so that crew members are able to safely make the necessary repairs. The temporary lane closure may cause some traffic delays.

At this time, there is no update as to when service will be fully restored. Individuals are encouraged to call the Clayton County Water Authority at (770) 960-5200 to report any water outage issues.

FOREST PARK, Ga. — July 29, 2023 — The Forest Park Fire and Emergency Services Department was notified of a water main break that occurred at the Jonesboro Plaza, located at 4150 Jonesboro Rd. Department officials were able to shut down the main water line, however, businesses in or near the immediate area may still experience low to nonexistent water pressure.

The Clayton County Water Authority is currently on scene to assess the water main break in order to make any necessary repairs and restore service. City officials are in constant communication with the Clayton County Water Authority to ensure a timely resolution, and additional updates will be provided once available
