The Municipal Court of Forest Park has jurisdiction over traffic offenses, local ordinances, and most misdemeanor non-traffic offenses.  Most citations can be paid before the court without a court appearance, but some charges require an appearance in court. As of Jan. 1, 2024, the city is no longer holding virtual court. You may contact our office at (404) 366-4720 (press option 8 on the main menu) to confirm if you have a payable offense.

If you do not pay your citation by 11:59 p.m. the day before your court date, you must appear in court on the date listed on your citation. Money order, credit card or debit card are the only forms of payment accepted. There is an additional 5% fee added if a card is used.

Court Date Continuances

Court dates may be continued by the court personnel only once with the proper paperwork excuse. Your paperwork must be submitted to the court no later than 3 business days before your court date. Once your excuse is verified and approved you will be given a new court date. However, any additional continuance must be granted by the Judge. The city is not legally able to restrict any offenses on your driver's history. You may mail a request to:

Failure To Appear In Court: License Release

  • This is for individuals whose driver’s license is CURRENTLY suspended.  
  • If a payment was submitted online, you are still REQUIRED to make a court appearance to sign REQUIRED documents and if your license was/is suspended it will REMAIN SUSPENDED UNTIL DOCUMENTS ARE SIGNED, and a withdrawal of FTA is submitted to the Department of Driver Services by the courts.
