Angelyne Butler, MPA, is an award-winning community leader who currently serves as the 24th mayor for the City of Forest Park and chair of the Downtown Development Authority. She is the first person of color, as well as the second woman, to be elected as mayor in the city’s 114-year history. A native of the State of Washington, Butler spent her formative years on Fort Lewis Army Base in Tacoma, Washington. She is the daughter of Command Sergeant Major Butler, who helped instilled in her a true passion for community activism, government and above all, public service.
