Outdoor Burning

Outdoor Burning:
Forest Park residents may obtain a permit for outdoor burning between October 1 and May 1.  Outdoor burning is banned in the metro Atlanta area between May 1 and September 30. Residents are allowed to burn leaves, small limbs and pine straw only.  Large limbs, tree stumps, construction materials, and garbage may not be burned.  No burning shall be conducted without having first obtained a permit from the Fire Department.  There is no cost for a residential burning permit. Permits are good for one day only and may be revoked for any cause.

For a residential burn permit, contact one of the fire stations and personnel can assist you. The Forest Park Fire Marshal's Office also issues permits for construction/commercial site pit burns. The cost for commercial permits is $25 per air curtain destructor. If you have questions concerning outdoor burning, please call the Fire Department at (404) 366-4720, ext. 9004.
